Where can the model # and date code be found on my home safety product (lock, latch, strap, cover, etc.)?”


Below is a set of photo examples to help locate this information on your product. This information can be molded into the plastic on the underside of the item as show in the photo(s) or you might find it embossed (like a rotary stamp) on the packaging.

• The model number will typically begin with a HS or 48.
• The date of manufacture (date code) may be noted in YY/MM/DD format followed by 2 letters.
This date (code) is also often noted as a date clock stamped into the plastic of the product itself. In this case, you will find an arrow pointing to the month of manufacture with the last 2 digits of the year stamped on either side of the arrow
