Can my car seat be in the reclined position when it's installed forward-facing?

Answer

Check the manufacturer's instructions that accompany your car seat for specifics on installation, restrictions, requirements, and allowances for recline positions. To match the natural angle/slope of different vehicle seats, some car seat models do allow semi-reclined position(s) to be used in forward-facing installations.

When installing your Safety 1st convertible car seat forward-facing, recline positions are only to be used in the following instances:

• To keep the car seat seatback as flush as possible against the back of vehicle seat
• When the manufacturer’s instructions allow recline forward facing or state that specific recline positions/angles are required for specific height/weight ranges

PLEASE NOTE: Adjustable vehicle seats must be in the upright position for installation with Safety 1st car seats.
